This month's chapter meeting is at the regular time and place, Tuesday, May 14, 7:30pm at the SE Lucky Lab on Hawthorne and will feature a presentation from the City of Portland's Megan Hanson, who works in the Bureau of Environmental Services.

Megan will be discussing a range of water quality issues  from Portland's Superfund site management to the "big pipe" project to outreach and education to homeowners, property managers and schools. With no shortage of water quality issues facing Portland, what's unique about our community is how the City's BES programs engage the public. These programs don't just educate the citizens of Portland on the water quality challenges that we face but they also get citizens engaged in solving these issues starting right in their own backyard. Come learn more about these programs and the major milestones we've passed as a city in cleaning up our river as well as the challenges ahead of us. Hope to see you there!
