We often here of that swirling vortex of a plastic mess known as the Pacific Gyre, but an Atlantic Gyre and 3 other gyres of plastic exist too, floxam and jetsam -ing about in the food chains of the oceans, soon to make it to a dinner plate near you if we don't start to take action! Enter 5 gyres, they're exploring the world's oceans, documenting and researching the ever-lasting effects of plastic on the world of the blue. And recently, we were able to send our past Portland Chapter Chair, Stiv Wilson, on one of these voyages throughout the Sargasso Sea. Stiv's been traveling about, speaking of his research at sea and telling his story through photos and media.
