This is a general reminder that we will be having a discussion of executive roles and responsibilities, current openings and nominations at the next chapter meeting, March 9th at 7:30pm. This announcement serves as the official notification of The Surfrider Foundation Portland Chapter's "open" election. Candidates can self nominate or others may nominate individuals (they must accept the nomination of course). If you are interested in an executive role, please be sure and try and make this meeting or contact oregon@surfrider.org prior. Attached at the bottom of the post is a brief description of the chapter positions and these are subject to change to best meet the needs of the chapter, although some of the responsibilities are firm with respect to our by-laws. For anyone on the fence, I would encourage you to either reach out to your fellow Surfrider members that may have first hand experience in the position. You’re all an important part of this team, whether you’re on the executive committee or not; but for an organization to run efficiently, we must stick to these core roles. Orientation and executive committee training will follow the elections.
