Meet Amanda Beaver, a dedicated volunteer who is making a difference in the Surfrider Portland Chapter. Discover her inspiring story and the impact she is creating in her community.
1) Why did you get involved with Surfrider Portland?
I saw that Wave Watch Wednesday was put on by Surfrider Portland and after attending one I learned more about other Surfrider Volunteer opportunities. After doing a few clean ups and connecting with other volunteers I was hooked!
2) Where’s your favorite place on the Oregon coast and why?
The Oregon coast is magical! Agate Beach and Beaver Creek are special places for me. Walking down those stairs with the epic cliff side of Yaquina Head is dreamy. It's also a place where my Mom will get in the water with me and I feel pretty lucky because of that!
3) Any fun fact about yourself you want to share with our members.
I've recently taken a big interest in tide pooling after learning more more at the Surfrider Oswald West Action Day last May. I've learned so much from the Oregon Coast Aquarium
