Wonder Ballroom is the place and
9:00 pm is the time for this all ages event from one of the greatest lovers of the ocean through music and surf. You may first know Donavon the pro surfer, who travels the world surfing in some of the most popular and remote places on the globe. Donavon’s surfboard and guitar case have seen more places than most humans ever will. And of course, you have Donavon Frankenreiter the musician, who is about to release his third, album titled
Pass It Around (Lost Highway). "I've always tried to incorporate the visions of the ocean, the tide, the surf in my music. But I never could, because it would be corny. It would be like I would be "in the waves," he laughs. Frankenreiter's respect of the ocean and surfing is too deep to bastardize it. It took Grant Lee Phillips aiding Frankenreiter on "Mansions On The Sand" to help him appropriately celebrate the water that he so loves. "And it came together and from a guy who doesn’t surf." He jokes. Come learn about the Portland Chapter's Rise Above Plastics Campaign and see a great show! For tickets go to:
