It’s been a long-time coming, but the North Coast Blue Water Task Force (BWTF) lab is back up and running. This past weekend, the lab was setup in its new location in Manzanita, OR and the first samples were taken and analyzed.
The fact that this lab is setup and running is exciting news because it will help ensure waters on the North Coast are healthy and clean enough for all kinds of water recreation. The next steps include training multiple volunteers, setting up sampling dates over the next few months, and establishing easy-to-follow lab procedures pertinent to the north coast lab. Thanks to all of those who have helped make this possible! For all of those who would like to help the BWTF, stay tuned for training dates and for future sampling dates or contact volunteercoordinator@portland.surfrider.org!
